APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS AND TIMELINE:
Before submitting this application, you must identify a specific study abroad program. Please bear in mind that you should have alternate program selections ready as backup options, should your first-choice program not be running in your desired term.
PROGRAM CHOICE: Be specific in identifying your program of study and intended course of study. Once you are approved by the Education Abroad Office, you can then proceed with your application for your external program (CUNY, SUNY, USAC, CIEE, etc.).
ADVISING: Though it is not required, it is strongly recommended that you have an advising appointment with staff from the Education Abroad office before applying. However, please proceed with your application if you have not yet met with us.
REVIEW TIMELINE: All applications are reviewed on a rolling basis once per week during the academic year. You will be notified of your application status after review. This typically takes about 7-10 business days.
ACADEMIC ACCOMMODATIONS: Our office collaborates closely with the Office of AccessABILITY to make sure that Hunter Students with Disabilities receive reasonable accommodations necessary to enhance their stay and experience while studying abroad. Therefore, to ensure accommodations, all students with disabilities/medical conditions are advised to meet with the Office of AccessABILITY, located in E1214, to receive a letter of accommodation which will help us to verify their need and to plan accordingly. For questions and appointments with the office of AccessABILITY, please call 212-772-4857.
COVID-19 VACCINATION:
CUNY currently does not require students studying abroad to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19; however, we recommend you obtain a vaccination and subsequent booster shots for your own protection and safety.
