Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Application 2025

Thank you for your interest in the Bachelor of Social Work Program at Hunter College. Transfer students must fill out the CUNY Transfer application at https://hunter.cuny.edu/students/admissions/undergraduate/apply/ and select Hunter College as one of your choices.

The BSW Program will prepare students for entry-level positions in one of two specific fields of practice—Child Welfare or Care Coordination. The Child Welfare track provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to work in protective and preventive services, as well as in agencies focusing on juvenile justice and adolescent services. Care Coordination emphasizes how to integrate healthcare and psycho-social support for older adults; for those with mental illnesses and for people living with chronic health issues.

Upon application to the program, students will need to select one track that they would like to study. Every effort will be made to grant the student's first choice but it is not guaranteed.

The BSW Program is an Upper Division Program for Juniors and Seniors, which requires students to have completed at least 55 credits prior to beginning the program. Students with less than 55 credits by the end of the summer 2025 semester are ineligible. Students with more than 80 credits are ineligible.

APPLICATIONS MUST BE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED BY APRIL 1, 2025.

Please make sure to have the following ready in order to successfully complete the application:

- Two (2) letters of recommendation (one academic / one professional)
- Verification of completed 32-hour supervised fieldwork assignment (Letter from Organization)
- Transcripts from all previously attended Institutions.
- Personal Statement
- Resume
