The Roger Herz Public Service Scholar Program (PSSP) is an academic and scholarship program at Hunter College that seeks to improve our cities and the lives of people by preparing talented undergraduates for careers in the public and non-profit sectors. The program seeks to raise the representation of particularly marginalized groups in these fields and give them the support and resources to pursue these careers after graduation. All Hunter College juniors and seniors are eligible to apply, regardless of major. To qualify, you must meet the following criteria: - Be within 45 credits of graduation (a upper junior or lower senior) when you start the program. - Be enrolled as a student for the full academic year of the program - Have an overall GPA of at least 3.0 Participants are selected based on their motivation, leadership potential, maturity level, academic performance, communication skills, and demonstrated interest in public service.
